Students Every student was assigned to complete several photo stories in three days of shooting in Clay, N.Y. Students are expected to shoot a variety of stories , including features, pictorials and shots that depict the Clay community. Other students are doing multimedia projects on the town.
Faculty/Staff Many of the faculty involved in the workshop are Syracuse University graduates who now work as professionals in the media. The faculty gave students tips for their photo. They helped the student photographers edit photos and publish them to the Web.
Faculty were assigned two kinds of duties: team leaders and coaches. The team leader’s primary responsibility was to help student photographers with their stories. They critique shoots in terms of content, composition and quality, and help edit the final product. The photo coach’s duties were to go on location with students and help with storytelling, quality, and lighting. These two assignments often overlapped during the weekend.
